Redbarn Arts and Crafts Festival Branding

Red Barn Arts and Crafts Festival Branding Print (2014)

As an assignment for my Visual Communications IV class, I created a new brand for Kirksville, Missouri's Red Barn Arts and Crafts Festival. The object of the assignment was to create informational pieces for both the community of Kirksville as well as artists who were interested in displaying their work in the festival.

I decided to create a more modern, fun feel for the festival's identity in order to catch the eye of younger art lovers in the Kirksville community, especially Truman students, as well as to inspire younger artists to display their work at the festival. Red Barn is well known within the older community of Kirksville, as well as older artists who display their work at the festival year to year. I wanted to created new interest in the event to help it grow even bigger.

The pieces I made included a public poster advertising the event, a series of cards to place in public venues around the Kirksville area to promote the event, a brochure for both old and new artists that includes an application form that can be ripped out and mailed back in an included envelope, and a series of magazine ads to promote the vent to artists. I shot all of the photography for this project.
